Mason City, IA -- Four runner's represented Indian Hills in the season's first cross country meet: the Region XI Time Trial, on Aug. 24 in Mason City.
The top time for the Warriors was turned in by sophomore Ray Quiroz, the only person back from last year's IHCC men's team.
Quiroz ran the course in 19:16.1, exactly one second faster than teammate Eric Davis, also a sophomore. Those two were in 31st and 32nd place, respectively.
A pair of IHCC freshmen, Austin Emry and Ben Wheeler, finished within less than one second of each other. Emry's time was 22:32 and Wheeler completed his first collegiate meet in 22:32.8. Both made the top 50 in a meet that featured 80 runners.
Indian Hills will take part in the Dutch Invitational in Pella on Sept. 7.
